Mary-Kate Olsen Is Engaged To Olivier Sarkozy Who Is 17 Years Her Senior
Mary-Kate Olsen and her French banker boyfriend, Olivier Sarkozy, have become engaged.
"Mary-Kate's family thinks Olivier is the best thing to happen to her," an insider told Us Weekly. "They love him."
Olsen and Sarkozy, whose brother Nicolas was the former President of France, began dating in May of 2012. Three months later, they began living together at a $6.25 million apartment in New York City. Since then, the pair have made it no secret that they are completely infatuated with one another, appearing together at New York Knicks games, where they are never shy about their PDA, and going for strolls with Sarkozy's children.
In Dec. 2013, a source revealed to Us Weekly that Olsen was considering having children with Sarkozy, but at the same time, also said that a marriage wasn't something on her radar.
"She'd like to get pregnant but isn't so sure about marriage," the insider explained.
Sarkozy already has two children, Julien, 12, and Margot, 10, with ex-wife Charlotte Sarkozy, and according to the source, Olsen has become a great step-mother figure for them.
"Mary-Kate has made him a better father," the source says. "She remembers all the kids' special events."
Sarkozy's ex-wife is even a fan.
"MK asks her permission about things that concern the kids, so Charlotte loves her!" explained a source.
