Jada Pinkett-Smith is gaining weight - and loving it.

Earlier this week on Facebook, the actress and wife of Will Smith, posted a recent photo of herself and her family in which she was sporting a few extra pounds.

"My girlfriend sent me this pic, and I could clearly see the weight I've gained which is about...8-10 pounds. I think I will keep it," Pinkett-Smith wrote along with the photo. "I like being a lil...fuller;) Let's just hope it will fit in The Oscars dress. Here's to loving our bodies by our own standards :)"

A couple of years ago, Pinkett-Smith opened up about her eating habits, claiming that healthy eating was instilled in her at a young age.

"I don't eat for pleasure," Pinkett-Smith revealed to Essence Magazine in June 2012. "[I] had the only West Indian grandmother that could not cook. She was an awful cook, and she taught me that you don't eat for taste, you eat for nourishment. And I have kept that over the years, so I can eat anything that's healthy."

Pinkett-Smith also said that she eats for her schedule, meaning her diet consists of "high-protein [items], lots of greens and healthy carbs."

Without a healthy diet, Pinkett-Smith, who is currently filming Gotham, and juggling her two kids, would be in jeopardy of falling flat on her face, as she said.

In the past, Pinkett-Smith has been open with the fact that she is petite and slender, and has been since high school. During her younger years, she dated a man who told her he needed her to gain weight. At the time, Pinkett-Smith was extremely hurt, but she has since moved on and learned to love her body at whatever size it may be.
