Lamar Odom Hopes He And Khloe Kardashian Don't Divorce, Says She "Will Always Be My Wife"
Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are heading for divorce following Kardashian's Dec. 2013 filing, but the basketball pro still thinks of her as his wife, and says that he always will.
"I love my wife. She'll always be my wife, no matter what," Odom told Us Weekly of Kardashian. "Who knows? We don't know exactly if [the divorce is going through]. Only time will tell. I hope not. But even if we were divorced, she would always be my wife."
Odom and Kardashian tied the knot in Sept. 2009 after just 30 days of dating. Their wedding, and the preparation involved, aired on Keeping Up With The Kardashians season four. After they wed, the pair went on to star in Khloe & Lamar, which began airing on Apr. 10, 2011, and also appeared together on three episodes of Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, which aired between 2010 and 2013.
"Those were some of the best years of my life," he said of his life with Kardashian. "Being married and being married to a woman I decided to marry was, besides having children, the most important thing in my life."
Then, in the summer of 2013, reports began to surface that Odom had been having at least one affair. Weeks later, drug use accusations followed, as did a DUI.
"We all have regrets, but the thing is to learn from life. There's no one in this room, no one in this world who can say, 'I'm mistake-free, I have made no mistakes,'" Odom explained. "If you can introduce me to that person, please introduce me to that person. Let me meet him and speak to him."
Earlier this week, Odom got some great news -- Spain's professional basketball team, Laboral Kutxa, wanted him to play for their team and offered him a two-month contract with the option to sign for another year at its completion. On Feb. 18, Odom officially joined the team.
On the way to the airport from his Los Angeles home, Odom spoke with Access Hollywood, telling them that Bruce Jenner actually helped him out with the deal in Spain. Also during the interview, Odom said that he "always speaks to Khloe," since "she's my wife."
Odom arrived in Spain yesterday on Feb. 20 and is expected to join the team in his first game as early as Saturday.
