Carrie Underwood And Mike Fisher Plan For Kids In 2014
Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher are ready to become parents.
After four years of marriage, the American Idol star and her NHL husband are planning to expand their family in 2014, and have already announced the exciting news to their families.
"During the holidays, they told friends and family that 2014 was going to be the year they had a baby!" a friend of the pair revealed to Life & Style on Feb. 19. "Mike and Carrie hoped to get pregnant in 2013, but then they decided to put it off."
In recent years, Underwood and Fisher have both been extremely busy, which made it hard for them to start a family. In June, Underwood ended her Blow Away Tour and was then off to host the Country Music Awards. Later in the year, she made TV history, performing in The Sound Of Music Live!
Meanwhile, Fisher has been playing professional ice hockey for the Nashville Predators.
Although the pair remains busy in 2014, Underwood peeping for her fifth studio album, and Fisher with his hockey, Underwood's schedule is not nearly as demanding as it has been in the past, which means more time to tend to a baby.
One of Underwood's costars from The Sound Of Music Live!, Sophia Anne, 12, recently spoke to Life & Style, telling the magazine that Underwood would make a wonderful mother.
"She was like a mom to us," she said. "We did feel like a real family. We used to say all the kids were brothers and sisters and she was the mother of our family."
"She was so nurturing. If we had trouble, she would talk to us. She was always asking us how we were doing and treated us like real people, not just little kids," Anne added. "She will be such a good mom one day!"
Underwood and Fisher began dating in 2008 after meeting at one of her concerts. They became engaged in Dec. 2009 and wed on July 10, 2010.
