John Stamos On His Relationship With Lori Loughlin, A Possible 'Full House' Sequel
John Stamos admitted in an interview last year that his former Full House co-star Lori Loughlin was "the one that got away," and on last night's Watch What Happens Live, Stamos revisited their relationship and spoke of a possible sequel to their hit series.
"We had great chemistry. We just had bad timing," Stamos, 50, told host Andy Cohen of Loughlin, 49. "She was married [to Michael R. Burns], then she got divorced, then there was about a week period that it could've happened, and then I met my ex [Rebecca Romijn] and I went that way."
Still, Stamos has nothing but the highest praise for Loughlin, who is now married to fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli.
"She's just the model of a perfect person, a beautiful person, and we're still great friends," the actor gushed. "We just don't have sex, but we're great friends."
In June of 2013, Stamos appeared on Huffington Post Live where he admitted that Loughlin may have been "the one."
"We were friends, we were on the soaps together and we actually did date," Stamos said. "We went on a date to Disneyland before, you know, before we were both married. In real life, when we were 18, 19 years old. We did have some off timing, but no disrespect to her family and her husband now, I would say that she could be the one that got away."
Later in the interview with Cohen, Stamos, who was joined on the late night show by his fellow Full House stars Bob Saget, Dave Coulier and Candance Cameron Burre, revealed plans for a possible sequel.
"The legacy is so important to us. Every year it just gets deeper and more important to everybody-we just have to do it right," Stamos said. "We've started working on a twist on a sequel but we don't know if it's going to happen yet or not."
