Julie Bowen Opens Up About Motherhood: Doesn’t Want To Have Any Full-Time Help When It Comes To Her Children

If you have three children, you would want full-time help but this is not the case with Julie Bowen. In an interview with People magazine she said that she and her husband Scott Phillips "definitely go nanny-free" on the weekends. The couple has three children: 6-year-old Oliver and 4-year-old twins John and Gus.

The Modern Family star said: "I'm not a saint and that's not to say we have never had a scoch of help on the weekends, but we never had anyone regular."

She also revealed that at first her commitment to raising her sons by herself was not a favourable option to her husband. However, she felt that it was important to raise their children by themselves because "we do have three kids and we need to know how to be with three kids."

"I know many families who have one child or three or four children and the thought of being alone with them for a weekend is pure hell. Now, I'm not going to say it's not, but we at least know how to do it and I think it's important to maintain that," the mom-of-three added.

The star added that as her children grow up, motherhood becomes manageable compared to when they were still babies.

She also shared that her children always want her home. If she has to go out for work or to an event then "emotional blackmailing and manipulation is in full swing" such as "barring the door, weeping in the driveway, demanding candy."
