Beyoncé's new self-titled album has become the fastest-selling album ever worldwide in the iTunes Store, Billboard reported Monday.

ITunes and Columbia records confirmed the stealth sales of the superstar's surprise album. The iTunes exclusive, available for only three days, was a risk that paid off for the Single Ladies singer. The label reported that the self titled album sold 828,773. 617,000 were sold through the U.S. iTunes store which will have exclusive rights to the album until Dec. 20.

However, not all retailers are impressed with the success of the album. Target announced that it would not carry the album.

"At Target we focus on offering our guests a wide assortment of physical CDs, and when a new album is available digitally before it is available physically, it impacts demand and sales projections," Target spokesperson Erica Julkowski told Billboard.

However, Walmart and Best Buy confirmed that they would carry the disc. It expected to be in stores this week, the latest date being Dec. 20.

Walmart is "happy to be able to carry her album and support all physical music," said Walmart spokesperson Sarah McKinney.

Best Buy took to Twitter to confirm that they would sell the CD once they receive it. They responded to concerned fans.
