Jay Leggett of 'In Living Color' Dies at 50

Jay Legget who appeared for a season in Fox's In Living Color died of natural causes on Saturday, Nov. 23, after he'd spend the day hunting. He was 50.

When he collapsed while he was hunting near Tomahawk, emergency crews were called and arrived on the scene around 4 p.m. and found the family members performing CPR on Leggett, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department said, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Mary Schlag, the manager of the Tomahawk Cinema said to the Wausau Daily Herald, "He was doing what he loved. If there's any comfort in his passing, that's it. He was doing something he loved."

In the same report, Susan Messing, a friend of almost 30 years said: "He was a Tomahawk boy, tried and true. And if he had to go, he couldn't have gone in a better place."

In addition to his work in the series In Living Color, which he also contributed as a writer, Leggett also guested on other series like ER, NYPD Blue, Star Trek: Voyager, Ally McBeal and The Drew Carey Show.

The comic actor/screenwriter also appeared in a number of films such as Another Day in Paradise, Employee of the Month and Division III: Football's Finest.

He recently written, produced and directed a film called Live Nude Girls.  In 2010, he directed a documentary about deer hunting in the Tomahawk area titled To The Hunt.
