Dina Lohan has been ordered to perform community service for her DUI arrest, Newsday reported Thursday.

Lohan appeared in court in Hampstead, N.Y. and was given her sentence by District Court Judge Andrew Engel. Lohan will have to volunteer at a community center.  She will also have to undergo an independent treatment evaluation. The next court was set for date for Jan. 7.

Lohan's lawyer, Mark Heller, said he wanted an "appropriate conclusion" to the case against his client.

"Right now, Dina is focusing on preparing a turkey for her beautiful family," he said.

On Sept. 12, Lohan was pulled over on the Northern State Parkway by New York State Police around 11 pm Thursday night. The 50-year-old was allegedly going 77mph in a 55 in her white BMW.  The cops said that she appeared intoxicated and her blood alcohol level ultimately proved twice the legal limit. Her BAC was .20, more than the permitted legal limit of .08.

At the time, Heller blamed stress and the presence of the constant photograghers.

"The circumstances leading to Dina's arrest were largely impacted by ongoing daily stresses caused by you folks, the paparazzi, media attention and distorted tabloid character profiles," Heller read.
