Lamar Odom to Return to the LA Clippers, Source Says
Lamar Odom is very close to signing with the Los Angeles Clippers, PEOPLE reported Nov. 16.
According to sources, Odom met with the management of the LA Clippers for two hours last Friday. He had been a free agent since the organization did not renew his contract last season after bad playing numbers. Additionally, Odom has been plagued by rumors of drug use and infidelity in his marriage to Khloe Kardashian. In recent months, Odom has resolved to turn his life around according to sources and returning to the basketball court is one of the first steps.
"He has been talking to them for weeks," a source close to the Kardashian family toldPEOPLE. "He's close to signing. They were definitely apprehensive but Lamar has shown huge improvement over the last few weeks and everyone around him believes he's sober."
The source added that Odom knew that it was up to him to turn things around in his life. It was said that he was prepared to do what was asked of him and had better coping mechanisms.
"He has a great support system. It's all up to him at this point. He's the one who can seriously f--- his life up," the source said. "But he has the tools to stay sober and he's well-aware that one false move costs him his career."
