Drew Barrymore: Pregnancy Isn’t About Perfection
Drew Barrymore has shared that pregnancy is not about being perfect, PEOPLE reported Thursday.
Barrymore graces the December cover of Women's Health and pregnancy was one of the topics she discussed. She and her husband, Will Kopelman, have a 13-month old daughter Olive. The couple is also expecting their second child.
"You're not supposed to look perfect while you're making babies. Making babies is the perfection," she said.
"It's about feeling good in clothes and knowing you can get dressed up in the evening ... but there's just no such thing as perfection. So if you're trying to get there, you're just torturing yourself."
Barrymore also touched upon expanding her empire. She has her own line of wine and cosmetics.
"Everything I'm going to do is going to have a real consciousness toward, 'Is this a job I can do and still get home in time for dinner and have days where I get to do every diaper change?'" she said.
Barrymore said that she was determined to create a balance in her life. She wanted to find time for her family and still maintain her career. She has been acting ever since she was a child and starred in such films as E.T.
"Work has been my priority my whole life," she said. "It feels okay to shift that priority, it feels like it's time."
