Lady Gaga Settles Overtime Lawsuit With Ex-Assistant

Lady Gaga has settled a lawsuit with her former assistant, PEOPLE reported Tuesday.

The case against Lady Gaga was dismissed according to court documents. Jennifer O'Neill claimed she was cheated out of compensation for working as Lady Gaga's assistant for a few weeks in 2009 and 13 months in 2010. In December 2011, O'Neill filed a suit in New York for nearly $380,000 as payment for almost 8,000 hours of work. She accused Gaga of using "personal alarm clock" to "ensuring the promptness of a towel following a shower."

During the deposition of the suit, the Applause singer felt justified in her demands. She testified under her birth name, Stefani Germanotta, and rationalized things such as O'Neill sleeping in the same bed as her.  Lady Gaga said she needed an assistant during the night.

"You don't get a schedule. You don't get a schedule that is like you punch in and you can play ... at your desk for four hours and then you punch out at the end of the day. This is when I need you, you're available," she testified.

Gaga also claimed that O'Neill should have been grateful to her.

"It is, like, such an amazing luxury that I get to travel the world and have planes, she doesn't even see what a luxury it is, but she thinks it's owed to her for no reason," said Gaga. "She slept in Egyptian cotton sheets every night, in five-star hotels, on private planes, eating caviar."
