Charlie Hunnam Was Going to Paid Only $125,000 for 'Fifty Shades of Grey'
Many people are wondering what the real reason behind Charlie Hunnam's departure from the much anticipated film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey was. Hunnam may be the only person who knows the answer, Us Weekly reported. According to a new story from The Hollywood Reporter, where there were different theories of why the actor decided to leave the series, one of them was financial matters.
According to E! Online, Hunnam was only going to make $125,000 for the film. This is a small sum considering that Robert Pattinson made $2 million for the first installation of the Twilight movie even though he was no that popular.
The Hollywood Reporter claimed that the actor also had a conflict with director Sam Taylor-Johnson. Hunnam wanted more input with regard to the revisions in the script but this only led to tension between him and Taylor-Johnson.
A source said that Hunnam had doubts even from the beginning, "Charlie Hunnam was never going to do Fifty Shades of Grey. He told his agents from the beginning he didn't want to do it and was going to pull out." "Sons Of Anarchy" director Peter Weller revealed to Huffington Post that Hunnam actually turned down the movie offer the first time, "One week ago or two weeks ago, he was on my set when they came back to him and they wanted him to do it because he passed on it once, you know."
Another source insisted that his departure was really from scheduling conflicts with Sons of Anarchy. "Charlie is the lead in a massive TV series and his loyalty will always be to Sons of Anarchy, the SOA family, and fans," the source revealed to Us Weekly.
