Miley Cyrus Breaks Her Silence on Liam Hemsworth Split: 'I'm Obsessed With Being Alone'
Miley Cyrus has publicly spoken about her split from actor Liam Hemsworth on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, E! News reported Friday.
Cyrus and Hemsworth ended their engagement in September after being together for more than four years. There had been rumors of infidelity on both sides and speculation that Hemsworth was horrified by her MTV VMA performance. She twerked on Robin Thicke while half nude and did suggestive things with a foam finger.
On Friday's episode of Ellen, the 20-year-old Wrecking Ball singer said that she was happy with her life. DeGeneres joked that the last time Cyrus appeared on her show in November 2012, she gave Cyrus a gift for her wedding.
"I want my money back," DeGeneres joked. "I sent you, like, [strippers]. You enjoyed it."
"I should of kept one of those dudes' numbers," Cyrus joked.
Cyrus took on a serious nature and said it was not awkward discussing her failed relationship because she was living it.
"I think people spend more time actually thinking about it than I really do. I just believe when a chapter is done you have to close it and start that new one. That's kind of where I am right now," she explained. "I felt like I have so much to be thankful for at this time that my energy hasn't really been focused on that."
Cyrus felt that her music was being appreciated more.
"I don't really look up anything, so maybe they haven't been showing respect, but from what I have seen, I felt like people have really focused on my music right now when I've needed them and have actually been really good about that. Because that's the only thing I worried about-I didn't want it to make me to sacrifice what I've been working for, for just the attention to be on that," she said.
