Robin Quivers Returns to The Howard Stern SiriusXM Radio Show After Cancer Battle [VIDEO]
Robin Quivers returned to the Howard Stern studio for the first time in 17 months since her cancer battle, TMZ reported Wednesday.
Quivers returned to the SiriusXM radio show on Wednesday and was joking warned by Howard to never again get sick. Howard then became serious and said he waited for this day to come.
"I was very very depressed over your illness. I wasn't sure what the outcome was going to be. There was a time I really did think I was going to lose you permanently. And I'll tell you what, this is a pretty remarkable day that you are here triumphant and cured. I never would have predicted this. Honestly," Stern said.
Quivers said that she was cured, but initially, her prognosis looked dire. In September, she revealed that she had battling cancer for almost two years. The 61-year old said that doctors discovered a tumor the size of a grapefruit in her uterus. She underwent surgery and chemotherapy. Additionally, she had not been in the studio for the past year, recuperating and working from home since mid 2012.
Quivers spoke of how the doctors wanted to prolong her life rather than to save it. The circumstances made her appreciate Stern whom she has worked with for 32 years.
"Before that conversation was over, I realized how much I meant to you," Quivers said.
