Simon Cowell: 'X Factor' Host Is 'Happiest' He Has Ever Been With Lauren Silverman
Simon Cowell has expressed his love for Lauren Silverman and their unborn child, PEOPLE reported Saturday.
Cowell told the publication that he was the one most surprised by the bombshell news this past summer over his impending parenthood. The 53-year-old host of The X Factor has been a notorious bachelor. Despite being involved in past relationships, the feeling was that he would not settle down permanently but his mindset may be changing.
"I didn't think it was going to happen," he said. "But you have to deal with it as a man: Let it happen naturally."
Cowell said he was the happiest that he had been in a long time despite the circumstances of his unborn child's conception. Silverman was previously married to Cowell's close friend, Andrew. He filed for divorce in July, alleging that the two had an affair behind his back. Their separation was finalized in August. Since then, Silverman and Cowell have come out as a couple.
"That's all been settled now," he said. "I love her and I love the fact that I'm having this baby."
Earlier this month, Cowell spoke about the paternal feelings he already had for his unborn son. He was moved by a sonogram picture.
"I went to see a scan today and it is just surreal. You literally see this thing which is now alive moving around. I feel very paternal right now. So, I am very happy," he said.
