Jane Lynch: Cory Monteith Tribute Episode of 'Glee' Is 'Really Beautiful'
Jane Lynch has described the upcoming Glee tribute to Cory Monteith as beautiful, PEOPLE reported Wednesday.
Monteith died in July after a drug overdose. His death was caused by "mixed drug toxicity" of heroin and alcohol. He was 31-years-old at the time of his death.
Lynch said that the tribute episode set to air in Oct. 10 was hard to shoot. She said the Glee cast was still in a state of mourning.
"It was hard, and it was beautifully written," Lynch said. "We grieved together, and it was so important for the crew to grieve as well, so we kind of all grieved as a big family."
"It was really hard to do, but it was a really beautiful episode."
Ryan Murphy, the show runner of Glee, previously said that Monteith's character Finn would not die of a drug overdose. He changed his mind after giving the matter some consideration. He made the comments to Deadline in August.
"But we have decided that we're not going to have him pass from that. Basically, what we're doing in the episode is we are not telling you yet, or maybe not at all, how that character died," Murphy said.
