George Zimmerman: Wife Shellie Holds Press Conference, Wants Marriage To End With Whimper Not Bang
Shellie Zimmerman gave a press conference with her lawyer two days after she accused her estranged husband, George, of threatening harm against her.
RadarOnline reported Wednesday that Shellie wanted her marriage to end with a whimper and not a bang. Kelly Sims, Shellie's attorney, spoke on her behalf at the press conference in Florida. Shellie could not speak because she is still under investigation from the domestic violence dispute stemming from a confrontation with George on Monday.
George was detained by Lake Mary police in Florida after Shellie called the police. During the five minute call, she said that George had threatened the lives of both her and her and father. She further alleged that the 29-year-old hit her father in the nose. Also, Shellie claimed that her spouse had a gun and was making threats towards her. Shellie believed that her father would have a heart attack.
It was also reported that George destroyed an iPad which captured the confrontation. Shellie ultimately opted not to press charges.
"Shellie had a valid reason why she believed George was armed," Sims said,
Sims cited that George recently purchased a newly purchased shoulder gun holster. He also stated that a woman who accompanied George to the residence knew that he had a gun.
"The bottom line is, Shellie had every reason to believe there was a gun and to want the police there," Sims said.
Sims said that Shellie simply wanted to start her life over and away from George.
"These folks need to be on opposite sides of the country," he continued. "Shellie's desire is to stay as far away from him as she can... And hopefully he feels the same way about her.
