George Zimmerman Detained by Police for Alleged Domestic Violence Against Wife Shellie
George Zimmerman was detained by police on Monday for an alleged domestic violence incident involving his estranged wife Shellie and her father, The Huffington Post reported.
George was detained by Lake Mary police in Florida after Shellie called the police. During the five minute call, she said that George had threatened the lives of both her and her and father. She further alleged that the 29-year-old hit her father in the nose. Also, Shellie claimed that her spouse had a gun and was making threats towards her. Shellie believed that her father would have a heart attack.

When the police arrived at the residence, Shellie began to backtrack from the story. She declared that she never saw George with a gun. The police decided that there was not enough evidence to arrest George for domestic abuse.
Last week, Shellie filed for divorce from the acquitted killer of Trayvon Martin. Shellie stood by George's side as he was arrested for the murder of Martin in February 2012. A trial ensued and he was acquitted in the death of the 17-year-old in July. Shellie felt that her support for George, which included her being charged with perjury, was not appreciated by her soon to be ex-husband.
"I stood by my husband through everything and I kind of feel like he left me with a bunch of broken glass that I'm supposed to now assemble and make a life...It's just heartbreaking," she said.
