Raz B Coma Report Was A Hoax
Raz B, former boy band member of B2K was never in a coma, CNN reported Monday.
Last week, TMZ reported that De'Mario "Raz B" Thornton was in a coma following an altercation in China. Many news outlets began to carry the story and the various updates given by sources. However, Thornton's manager, Elayne Rivers, said that her client's injuiries were greatly exaggerated after he stopped a fight outside a Shanghai nightclub. His subsequent hospitalization and being near death had been a hoax.
"The comments about Raz being in a coma did not come from his official representative," Rivers said.
Thornton's brother, who performs under the name Ricky Romance, also confirmed the exaggerations. He did not know why he had been misled.
"I was unfortunately unable to contact my brother at the time and then panicked," Romance said. "I then alerted as many people of this information hoping to gather facts... Since the source that gave me this information was what I thought to be legitimately reliable I didn't question I just believed. I apologize if I seem like I jumped to conclusions but a coma is a serious situation and it was concerning my brother whom is my best friend as well. I sincerely apologize for the confusion I caused if that is the case."
