Dr. Kristi Funk of the Pink Lotus Breast Center in Beverly Hills was the one who treated the 38-year-old actress. She also spoke about the brave journey of the actress in the upcoming issue of Los Angeles magazine.
The fiancé of Brad Pitt decided to undergo a double mastectomy after the results of a genetic tests revealed that she had a high risk of developing breast cancer. In 2007, the actress's mother, Marceline Bertrand, died due to ovarian cancer at age 56.
In the interview, Funk said that Jolie is a very private person. She added that the actress wanted to have the right time in order to tell the world what she had done with her body.
Considering that Jolie is one of the most beautiful women in the world, it is pretty hard to tell the world that she had to undergo a double mastectomy, the doctor added. However, Jolie wanted the world to be aware of the risks and be able to be brave enough to undergo surgery in order to live a longer and a healthier life.
