Usher News: Tameka Foster Angered Son Nearly Drowned on Ex's Watch
Tameka Foster has spoken out about the pool accident that nearly killed her son in an interview with Good Morning America Wednesday.
Foster said that she was angered that her son, Usher V, with ex-husband Usher, nearly drowned on August 5. The five year old was playing by the pool when his arm got stuck in the drain. It took two men to free the boy. He was transported to the hospital where the boy was admitted into ICU. He was released from the hospital over the weekend, having made a full recovery but Raymond was still upset her son had to go through such an ordeal.
"I was mad because I was like, 'How did this happen? Who was watching him? Why was my son under water for nearly 3 minutes?'" Foster asked.
Usher has custody of the two children the former couple share, Usher V and Naviyd. She was at the dentist's office when she learned of the incident. While usher V lay in the hospital, Foster went to court to seek temporary custody of the boys on the grounds that the R&B singer was not an attentive father. Her bid was denied.
Raymond insisted during the interview that she did not hate her ex, but was merely a concerned parent.
"I didn't blame him for it, I just was angry that it happened on his watch," Foster said. "Because, while accidents happen, never have my children been injured on my watch."
