Jennifer Garner: 'Alias' Star Doesn't Want To Be Known Only As ‘Mrs. Ben Affleck’
Jennifer Garner doesn't want to be known only as Mrs. Ben Affleck.
Garner had a rising career even before she married Ben Affleck with shows like Alias and movies such as Daredevil and Elektra. In the September issue of Allure magazine, the Alias star states that there are times she goes to some events without her husband intentionally. This keeps her identity as Jennifer Garner and not just being known as the wife of Ben Affleck.
"It's a very conscious decision," she clarifis with her interview with the magazine. She says that when it comes to going to parties and premieres without Affleck, "Sometimes it's a pain because my heels are so high and it would be nice to have his arm. And he's such a great date!"
"But it can be too much," Garner says. "I think especially for women, they can really lose their identity and just become 'wife of'." Garner wants to have her own identity separate from the identity of her husband.
The 41-year-old actress also does not want to work onscreen with husband Affleck, 40. Garner argues that "people are sick" of them because paparazzi always takes a picture of the them which is why there is no mystery anymore. Ironically, the two met during their work together in Daredevil on 2003.
The Dallas Club actress, mom to 7-year-old Violet, 4-year-old Seraphina and 17-month-old Samuel, also tells the magazine that she wants roles without doing any extreme changes to her body. She says "it's not exactly on the top of my list."
When it comes to going under the knife, the Elektra star said that she doesn't even want to undergo Botox since she's afraid of what will happen during the procedure.
