Amber Tamblyn Joins 'Two and a Half Men' As Jenny Harper
Amber Tamblyn has joined the cast of Two and a Half Men, Us Weekly reported Thursday.
Tamblyn has been cast as Jenny Harper. The character will be the illegitimate, lesbian daughter of the late Charlie Harper who was previously played by Charlie Sheen. She will be recurring during her initial run of five episodes for the 11th season. There is an option of Tamblyn becoming a series regular afterwards.
Tamblyn is rumored to be the replacement for the exiting Angus T. Jones. Jones will be focusing on his education and leaving the show that made him a household name. In July, Chuck Lorre explained why the decision was made to add a woman to the long running series that he created.
"I think it would be great to have a voice on the show from a different perspective," he said. "The show has had enough testosterone to last a lifetime."
Lorre also explained that he wanted to give the show a new dynamic by having a character capable of matching wits with stars Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer. He said that it would be a big job and apparently the 30-year-old will serve that function.
"The idea of the character brings a healthy amount of decadence, which is always fun on Two and a Half Men," he said.
