Usher Asked To Perform At Ben Crews Wedding, Man Who Rescued Singer's Son From Drowning
Usher is being asked to sing at the upcoming wedding of the man who helped rescue his young son from a near drowning, TMZ reported Thursday.
On Monday, Ben Crews was one of the two men that helped pull Usher Raymond V from a swimming pool at Usher's home in Atlanta. The 5-year-old was playing with his aunt near Usher's pool. Apparently, a toy fell into the pool and the boy went into the water to retrieve it. However, the little boy then got his arm stuck in the drain. Crews and Eugene Stachurski rescued Usher's son.
Usher thanked the two men in a statement on Wednesday.
"I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them."
The mother of Crews told the site that Usher could also show his appreciation by performing at her son's upcoming wedding. The nuptials are set to take place next wedding and Leigh Crews said it would be nice if Usher sang a few songs. Usher has not yet commented on the invitation, but he and his ex-wife will appear in court Friday. Tameka Foster filed for an emergency custody hearing following her son's hospitalization.
