Rihanna Sued for $150K Over Grandmother's Funeral
Rihanna is being sued for not paying the expenses on her grandmother's funeral, TMZ reported Thursday.
The site said that the funeral company that handled the arrangements for Clara Brathwaite in June 2012 have not yet been paid. In the suit, the funeral company claimed that the Diamonds singer had her grandmother's body transported to Barbados and wanted the works: tents, multi-media large screens, huge exotic floral arrangements. Those plans came at a price of $150,000, but the funeral company alleged in their paperwork that Rihanna only paid a quarter of the amount and had refused to make the remaining payment. They further claimed that Rihanna believed the price was too high and would not pay.
Rihanna has not made any comment on the lawsuit but at the time of her grandmother's death from cancer, she took to social media to express her grief.
"Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you," she tweeted July 1, 2012.
Rihanna also posted pictures of her beloved grandmother to share. In many of them, she was seen at the bedside of the ailing mother who had been She was hospitalized at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York before her June 30 death.
