'RHOBH' Star Brandi Glanville Buying Twitter Followers To Keep Up With LeAnn Rimes?
Brandi Glanville has been accused of buying her Twitter followers in an effort to keep up with nemesis, LeAnn Rimes.
RadarOnline reported Tuesday that The Real Housewife of Beverly Hills star has seen her followers on Twitter increase substantially in recent months. She has gained more than 45,000 fans since May 6, but the gains have been in suspicious blocks. A source said that Glanville has netted at least 300 new followers per day. She now has more than 410K followers.
"It's clear that she's been buying about 500 followers on average per day over the last three months and using robot followers to increase her numbers," a source said.
The site declared that many of the 40-year-old's followers are Twitter bots who merely have a profile set up but not much else. They do not have followers, nor do they tweet. A source said that Glanville was desperate to best Rimes who is married to the reality TV star's ex-husband, Eddie Cibirian. Rimes has over 475K followers on the social networking site.
"Brandi is desperate to reach LeAnn Rimes and I would be surprised if she is engineering this whole thing so she can claim the "status" over here. It's crazy," the source said.
Glanville seemingly addressed the controversy with a July 24 tweet to deny that she paid for any new followers.
