‘Teen Mom 2’ Canceled? MTV Denies Pulling Plug On Hit Reality Series
Is MTV cancelling "Teen Mom 2"?
A report came out earlier this week that the network is considering pulling the plug on its popular reality show after the fourth season.
MTV has already finished filming the fourth season of "Teen Mom 2," which should air sometime this year. The third season is currently being shown on the network.
The New York Post claimed that the decision revolves around the recent erratic behavior of one of the show's stars, Jenelle Evans.
In the last few months, Evans has married boyfriend Courtland Rogers and revealed she was pregnant with his child. She then lost the child to a miscarriage earlier this month, per RadarOnline.
Evans' love life has also been a source of drama in recent weeks. According to E! Online, Evans filed assault charges against Rogers just days before her miscarriage, accusing him of attacking her while she was pregnant. Rogers also recently accused Evans of cheating on him, even though he was apparently caught on camera kissing another woman, per RadarOnline.
"OMG please somebody tell me that she did not go see Gary the first day we are apart! Please be fake!! Did she really do that," Rogers tweeted, per US Weekly. "Everybody tell Jenelle thank you because she just committed adultery!"
According to the Daily Mail, Rogers was seen kissing a woman named Tiffany on the live stream website Stickam. However, he claims he was just doing it to get back at Evans, who he believes cheated on him with her ex, Gary Head.
Evans has also spent two stints in rehab, most recently in December. Per Hollywood Life, she was sent there after her mother Barbara found her with heroin shortly after Thanksgiving.
However, representatives for MTV told Entertainment Weekly that rumors of the show's demise are premature.
"No decision has been made yet regarding a fifth season of 'Teen Mom 2,'" an MTV spokesperson said. "But the network is planning to air the fourth season this year and will announce the premiere date soon."
The original "Teen Mom" aired its last episode back in October. However, the network is already planning "Teen Mom 3," per Zap2It.
The "Teen Mom" show focuses on the lives four young women who gave birth to children as teenagers. The series are spinoffs of MTV's hit "16 and Pregnant."
