George Clooney Pays Stranger’s $134.66 Bill At Berlin Restaurant
George Clooney paid the dinner bill of a stranger at a restaurant in Berlin.
According to Huffington Post, Clooney and several of his friends dined at Grill Royal Restaurant on Friday night, but the actor felt that his party may have been too loud and disturbed those eating next to him. So, when the stranger at the next table went to pay his $134.66 bill, Clooney picked up the tab.
TV Guide reports that the stranger in question did not even realize Clooney was sitting next to him. In fact, he did not recognize the actor, nor did he think Clooney's table had been overly loud.
"They had behaved in a very cultivated manner," the man told the German newspaper Bild. "I was stunned."
Once the businessman learned that George Clooney had paid his bill, he left his card with the actor in hopes of someday returning the favor, according to UPI.
Thelocal.de reports that Clooney is in Germany to work on his upcoming movie "The Monuments Men." The film, which also stars Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Jean Dujardin and Bill Murray, is about a group of historians and curators who try to salvage art stolen by the Nazis during World War II.
