Mary O’Connor Dies; Hugh Hefner Says Goodbye To His Longtime Secretary
It's a sad day in the Playboy Mansion. Hugh Hefner took to his Twitter account this past Sunday to break some terrible news to followers, his longtime secretary Mary O'Connor passed away.
"The Girls Next Door" fans will remember Mary O'Connor as the glue that held the Playboy mansion together. Besides dealing with matters for Hugh Hefner, O'Connor was always there for the ladies of the house to talk to.
Now the former stars of the E! reality show, Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett, Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison, have taken to their Twitter accounts to express their sadness over O'Connor's passing.
According to People.com, Mary O’Connor was Hefner’s secretary for 40 years. With Hefner for three marriages, it was actually O’Connor who got the Playboy tycoon back together with his runaway bride, Crystal Harris. Harris, 26, was initially supposed to marry Hefner, 86, in June 2011. She ended up calling off their engagement, but the two reunited and wed this past New Year’s Eve at the Playboy mansion.
This past June Hugh Hefner tweeted the reasoning behind his reconciliation with Crystal Harris … Mary O’Connor!
“It’s Mary O’Connor that brought Crystal Harris back,” Hefner had tweeted. “Crystal was miserable & said so. Mary told Crystal to write & tell me, which she did.”
Just this past Saturday Hefner told fans that his longtime friend wasn’t doing well and that he was headed to visit her.
“Mary has our prayers,” he tweeted. “We all love her.”
