Victor Garber Comes Out Of The Closet: ‘Titanic’ Actor Confirms He’s Gay
Actor Victor Garber, who played shipbuilder Thomas Andrews in the movie 'Titanic,' confirmed this week what he said most people already knew - that he is gay.
"I don't really talk about it but everybody knows," Garber said, according to the Los Angeles Times. "My companion Rainer Andreesen and I have been together almost 13 years in Greenwich Village. We both love New York."
Andreesen was allegedly Garber's date to the 2013 Golden Globes, the awards show where Garber's "Argo" took home best picture.
Victor Garber's coming out comes days after Jodie Foster's public semi-coming out at the Golden Globes.
"I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago back in the Stone Age, in those very quaint days when a fragile young girl would open up to trusted friends and family and co-workers and then gradually, proudly to everyone who knew her, to everyone she actually met," Jodi Foster said in herspeech. "But now I'm told, apparently, that every celebrity is expected to honor the details of their private life with a press conference, a fragrance and a prime-time reality show. You know, you guys might be surprised, but I am not Honey Boo Boo Child."
