Psy Buys L.A. Condo; Pays $1.25 Million In Cash [VIDEO]
Psy may be on top of the world as the first person in history to get 1 billion YouTube views, but he doesn't want to live there. The 'Gangnam Style' phenom Psy bought an L.A. condo for a mere $1.25 million. The 2,700-sq ft. condo, inside the Blair House on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, is on one of the lower floors of the 29-story Blair House. When Psy buys an L.A. condo, does he use YouTube videos like this one?
Psy bought his L.A. condo with cash wired to him from a bank account in South Korea. He's got the money, but not what you'd expect for a guy with a billion views on YouTube. Psy earned $8 million in 2012 and signed with Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun. On the' YouTube all-time views' pay scale he ranks well below the #2 and # 3 artists, Justin Bieber (net worth $105 million) and Jennifer Lopez (net worth $250 million). The Korean money connection is interesting, though, because his father made $30 million after 'Gangnam Style' blew-up. For some reason, his father's company saw a huge increase in stock value despite the fact that 'Gangnam Style' has nothing to do with financial markets (we hope.)
Did Psy buy his L.A. condo to increase his exposure in Tinseltown? Probably. The Beverly Hills location carries undeniable swank, and L.A. is home to largest Korean community in the U.S. Want to be Psys neighbor? If you're interested in living in the same building as the one wher ePSy bought his L.A. condo, there is a "spacious, light and bright 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms unit in Wilshire corridor's Blair House," according to the building's website. The 12th floor condo is only $798,000 and comes with the chance to maybe ride Psy horsey style in the elevator.
