Rihanna Emerges From Hotel After Two Days Sick In Bed
Rihanna has emerged from her hotel in England after spending over two days sick in bed.
According to the Daily Mail, Rihanna emerged at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. She still looked pale but was eating an orange to help nurse herself back to health.
The singer was coming off a performance of her new single, "Diamonds," on the British version of "X-Factor." She is currently promoting her latest album, "Unapologetic," which debuted at No. 1 on the American Billboard charts, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Rihanna's illness came just days after the end of her 777 Tour, where she performed seven concerts in seven countries over a one-week period. She also invited around 150 journalists and some select fans to ride on her plane with her during the tour.
However, many reporters later criticized the stunt. Jeff Rosenthal from Rolling Stone noted that journalists barely got any time with the singer, while Julianne Escobedo Shepherd of Spin called the whole thing "insane" and "a joke."
The singer later told reporters that she could not speak too much to journalists during the tour because she wanted to rest her voice for the performances.
"It was different having to do your job but also have 200 guests come along with you," she said, according to MTV. "They all want you to host a party every time you get on the plane after a show but you really only have that time to sleep until you get to the next country ... Sometimes it was a two-hour ride to the next country and that was all the sleep you would get."
While this tour sounded like a good idea at the time, it certainly seems to have backfired. Not only did the move anger music journalists, but it likely contributed to Rihanna's illness. The singer admitted in an interview on Radio 1 Breakfast Show in England that the tour had been tiring.
"It was exhausting... it was definitely different doing your job but with 200 guests coming along with you - they want you to get drunk after the show," Rihanna told Nick Grimshaw on the radio show. "Most of the plane rides were two hours to four hours. I used my time wisely... I didn't party too hard. I had to save my voice - sometimes you wish you could give more."
But while Rihanna did not emerge from her hotel room for over two days during her sickness, she could not have been too ill. After all, she took time to post pictures of herself on Twitter and to thank fans for helping her album reach No. 1 in the U.S.
