J.Lo Hotel Maid: Jennifer Lopez Denies Getting Hotel Maid Fired After Autograph Request
Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, also known as J.Lo, has denied a story in a German tabloid claiming that she got a hotel maid fired who dared to ask for her autograph.
According to AOL Music, a German magazine called Bild reported that Pray Dodaj knocked on the door of Lopez's room at the Melia Dusseldorf Hotel, hoping for an autograph.
"I cleaned on [sic] her floor," Dodaj reportedly told the magazine.. "And I am an incredibly big fan so I took all my courage and rang the bell to get an autograph. But I was rejected by two assistants at the door.
"A day later, the cleaning company that employed me at the hotel called and said that Ms Lopez had complained," she continued. "I was fired right there on the phone. Because of an autograph."
Indeed, the magazine reported that Dodaj was fired for disrupting a guest's privacy, per the Dusseldorf's director, Cyrus Heydarian.
But Miss Lopez herself took to Twitter on Wednesday to set the record straight.
"C'mon thought you knew me better than this.. Would never get anyone fired over an autograph," she wrote.
TMZ reports that Dodaj did come into J.Lo's room, and that she did so unannounced. Lopez's security then kicked the maid out in order to protect the singer. The site also reports that Dodaj was not actually fired, but rather reassigned to a different hotel.
"Jennifer always goes out of her way to meet and greet fans as evidenced by her recent tweet 2 meet engagements backstage, as well as stopping to sign autographs and say hello to hotel staff," a rep for the singer told TMZ.
