Sharon Stone Attends Fundraising Gala After Being Hospitalized For Fainting At Milan Fashion Week
Sharon Stone, 54, was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Milan on Friday after fainting at a Fendi Fashion show. "She had fainted and was out cold," a source said. "It was scary."
The 'Basic Instinct' cougar flew to Italy with her 27-year-old Argentine boyfriend Martin Mica, to attend an amfAR (The American Foundation for AIDS Research) benefit. Mica allegedly tended to the actress while she recovered at the undisclosed hospital.
"Sharon experienced migraine related symptoms, and we all felt it best that she got checked out before the amfAR event," a rep for amFAR said. "She was examined and given a clean bill of health. And as she said, wild horses couldn't keep her away."
It was business as usual for Stone on Saturday when she attended a lavish fundraising gala. She was dressed to the nines in a slinky black gown with a plunging neckline and reassured the press she was indeed ok.
"Thank you. I feel fine and I'm good and I've got a clean bill of health and I'm happy to be here," Stone told Reuters"
"I'm totally happy to be here for something so meaningful to me."
This isn't the first time Stone had a health scare. In 2001, she was hospitalized in San Francisco for a brain aneurysm - after complaining of crippling headaches.
USA Today reported she was treated for a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) - a bleeding into an area between her brain and the middle membrane that shields it.
According to her neurosurgeon, Dr. Michael Lawton, Stone's SAH was caused by a vertebral artery dissection (VAD) at the base of her skull.
Other symptoms of SAH include nausea and vomiting, stiff neck, light intolerance, complete or partial loss of consciousness.
Stone -- who battled infertility throughout her life, now has three adopted sons, Roan, Laird and Quinn.
I always wanted a large family," Stone once told People magazine, and is surprised that she "can actually accomplish it all every day. And get them all under blankets every night."
