The Bride Wore Rodarte: Natalie Portman’s Jewish Wedding Details!
After learning about Natalie Portman's wedding to her French fiancé Benjamin Millepied this past Saturday, we immediately began to speculate about who designed the coveted wedding gown.
We knew Rodarte would be a top choice for the blushing bride because she is such close friends with the fashion house's founders, Laura and Kate Mulleavy - so close in fact - the fashionable threesome even go on hikes together.
"Kate and Laura Mulleavy have schedules that are similar to mine, so we can go for a hike at noon, or to the museum in the middle of the day," Portman told Vogue about her friendship with the Mulleavy sisters.
Kate and Laura kept Portman's Jewish tradition in mind during the designing process. The airy gown was A-line, tea length, and draped with a diaphanous overlay that laid across the Oscar winners chest and arms. Portman paired it with nude shoes, and a veil festooned with flowers.
Among her 100 guests, Invanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and Maccaulay Culkin were in attendance. They dined on vegan fare, and in lieu of an extravagant cake, they were served delectable French macarons.
As a parting gift, everyone took home a satchel of wildflower seeds with the word "Merci" etched on the label. No doubt, an ode to the groom's culture.
What are your thoughts on Portman's tea-length wedding gown? Did she pull it off?
