Is Michael Jackson’s Mother, Katherine Jackson, Missing?
The matriarch of the Jackson family, Katherine Jackson, was reported missing for a week by her nephew Trent, Saturday night, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department. The 82-year-old's granddaughter, Paris Jackson, tweeted her concern over her missing grandmother. "yes, my grandmother is missing. i haven't spoken with her in a week i want her home now."
Conflicting reports of Katherine's whereabouts came from her own son, Jermaine Jackson, "I want to reassure everyone (inc all sudden medical experts) that Mother is fine but is resting up in AZ on the order of a doctor, not us." He tweeted on Friday.
"This is our mother and her health is paramount," the former "Jackson's 5" member continued. "We are not inventing or plotting anything. We are following doctor's advice. Period."
"At this time there is no indication that a crime has been committed whatsoever," Steve Whitmore, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Spokesman, told ABC News. "And there has been social media from representatives of the family and family members that say that she is fine and with family."
Whitmore believes Katherine is visiting relatives in Albuquerque in hopes of seeing her remaining four sons in concert, but her attorney, Sandra Ribera, seems to think otherwise.
"Prior to her departure, a doctor was brought to her home and represented that he had been sent from the office of her longtime physician. Based on this representation, Mrs. Jackson agreed to meet with the doctor who subsequently ordered her to fly rather than drive to her sons' concerts. Mrs. Jackson followed what she believed to be her doctor's instructions," Ribera said in a released statement.
Furthermore, the physician who cared for Katherine was reprimanded by the California Medical Board for fraudulent activities and is linked to Dr. Conrad Murray, the man currently serving a prison sentence for the death of her legendary son, Michael Jackson.
