'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter:' Anthony Mackie and Benjamin Walker Reveal If They Are Fans Of The Vampire Phenomenon
Anthony Mackie may be starring in a movie about vampires, but the "Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter" star is not a fan of the phenomenon, at least not the new one.
"I'm a fan of the old vampires, the vampires that you want to drink beer with and suck blood with, like Kiefer Sutherland in 'Lost Boys' or Tom Cruise in 'Interview with the Vampire,' those are badass vampires," Mackie said to ientimes.com at the New York City premiere of the film. "I don't want vampires that are in love, you know that have feelings. Vampires aren't supposed to feel, they're supposed to just bite people."
However, Honest Abe, or at least the actor who plays him in the movie, Benjamin Walker, is a fan of the vampire phenomenon, although his tastes are vintage, much like Tim Burton's.
"There's something about immortality that really draws us to them," Walker told ientimes.com at the New York City premiere of the film. "My favorite vampire is Nosferatu hands down."
