‘Once Upon A Time’ Gets ‘Lost’ With Emilie De Ravin
During the wickedly addictive first season of ABC's "Once Upon A Time," viewers got a quick glimpse of fairytale character Belle, played by "Lost" alumni Emilie de Ravin. The actress only appeared in three episodes of season one, but it seems like her story line is getting picked up because de Ravin has been cast as a series regular for season two.
An ABC rep confirmed to Hollywood.com that Emilie de Ravin would be joining the cast as a regular.
"Once Upon A Time" is ABC's storybook series that retells the well known fairytales we learned as children.
During de Ravin's brief stint in season one, we learned that in the Fairytale world Belle was Rumpelstiltskin's prisoner who began to slowly fall in love with him. Rumpelstiltskin didn't believe anyone could love him though, and a falling out between the two occurred. In the real world Belle was being imprisoned by the Mayor (evil queen) in what looks like a secret insane asylum. The season finale shows the Mad Hatter freeing Belle as an act of vengeance against the queen.
A "Once Upon A Time" writer revealed de Ravin's reason for return to TVLine.com, stating "We cast [Emilie] thinking that she'd be great for this but it would probably be a one-shot - but if she didn't get a pilot and she had a good time and she's available, we knew that of course she'd be welcome back!"
"Once Upon A Time" will return to Sundays on ABC in the fall. Sunday nights will also be shared with Terry O'Quinn, another "Lost" alum who will be starring on "666 Park Avenue."
