Yesterday we reported that a photo of the home at 1313 Mockingbird Lane for NBC's "Munsters" remake, "Mockingbird Lane," leaked. Today we are happy to reveal that Lily Munster, who was played by Yvonne De Carlo when the series aired in the mid 1960's, has finally been cast! Who is the lucky lady to star besides Jerry O'Connell's Herman Munster, you may ask? Portia de Rossi!

The beautiful blonde (and wife of Ellen DeGeneres) will be going Goth for the NBC reboot. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the former "Arrested Development" star will be the matriarch of "Mockingbird Lane." The casting announcement comes after many speculated that Mariana Klaveno, who portrayed Lorena on "True Blood," had been cast as Herman's Lily.

According to The Huffington Post, De Rossi will be joining Eddie Izzard, who has been cast as Grandpa, Mason Cook, who will be playing Lily and Herman Munster's werewolf son Eddie, Charity Wakefield who plays "normal" niece Marilyn, and of course Jerry O'Connell has Herman Munster.

Although the NBC show is a reboot of the series which ran for two seasons from 1964 to 1966, writer Bryan Fuller revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the one-hour dramedy is a definite monster upgrade. Fuller promises more appearances by monsters in the new show, describing "Mockingbird Lane," to be almost like the "Real Housewives of Transylvania." In an interview with EW, Fuller teased that "These are blinged-out representation of what monsters would be doing if they lived in our society today."

"Mockingbird Lane" is being directed by "X-Men's" Bryan Singer. The new series was originally planned to air in the fall, but is now set for a possible midseason reveal, reports EW.
